Teaching Writing Recount Text Using Scientific Approach through Whatsapp
In this pandemic, teaching-learning should facilitate students using appropriate models in the classroom, Scientific approach is one of models rnthat can be implemented. The purpose of the research were to describe: 1) the scenario and implementation of Scientific approach in teaching writing rnrecount text, 2) the teacher’s and students’ responses toward teachinglearning process, and 3) teacher’s and students’ difficulties in teachinglearning writing recount text using scientific approach. This research used descriptive qualitative research method as a research method. The participants in this study were 30 students senior vocational high school inWest Bandung, West Java, and tenth grade. The data was collected by means of observation, interviews, questionnaires, written tests and field notes. The results showed the implementation of scientific approach was in accordance to the scenario and lesson plan. The teacher’s and students’ responses the positive, the results showed a significant difference in learning using the scientific approach method, and some students agreed that the application of the scientific approach method could increase their motivation towards learning materials and writing skills. However, there are some difficulties faced by teachers, namely not all students follow the lesson because of poor internet connection and some students do not have smartphones. The researcher hope that this research can make students be more active in learning writing especially using scientific approach
