ENGGUNAAN METODE PQ4R UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN SISWA KELAS V SDN HARAPAN MULYA
ABSTRACTrnThis research is motivated by the fact that there are still many students who are lowrnin reading comprehension so that they have difficulty understanding the meaning ofrna reading content. This study aims ti improve the reading comprehension skills ofrnfifth grade students using the PQ4R method. The subjects in this study were 26rnstudents in class V at SDN Harapan Mulya. The method used is a mixed method orrnmixed method whit a sequential explanatory design. The first activity uses thernquantitative method in the form of a pretest and posttest to obtain a score on therneffectiveness of learning using the PQ4R method and to improve readingrncomprehension skills. Qualitative method as a reinforcement explanationrnexplanation on quantitative data. The average score of students before using thernPQ4R method was 69, ehile after using is increased to 84. For the classical pretestrncompleteness students had a percentage of 62% meaning that learning outcomesrnwere still low. Whereas in the posttest the percentage of student completenessrnreached 81%, meaning that learning outcomes increased. The normalized N-gainrntest result for the PQ4R method obtained g=56,86%, while the normalized N-gainrntest results for reading comprehension obtained g=0,57. There results indicate thatrnthe effectiveness of the use of the PQ4R method is included in the quite effectiverncategory, while the results for improving reading comprehension are alreadyrnincluded in the moderate category, corresponding to g=0,3 ≤ g
