TRANSLATION PROCEDURES OF MARKETING TERMS IN PHILIP?S KOTLER PRINCIPLES OF MARKETING: The Study of Translation and Semantics
This research intends to show up how marketing terms are translated from English into Indonesian and what translation procedures are employed in the translation of those terms. The aims of this research are; (1) to find out the translation procedures used in translating of marketing terms and (2) to find out the denotative and connotative meaning on the procedures that used in the translation. The method employed in this research is descriptive-qualitative method. The data consists of terms in English and Indonesian, there are 52 terms that were found by the researcher. After analyzing the data, the researcher found 6 translation procedures that used by the translator, there are literal translation, modulation, transposition, naturalization, transference and through translation. The researcher also found the semantics meaning on the marketing terms, there are 50 data for denotative meaning and 2 data of connotative meaning
