(Skripsi) INDIRECT SPEECH ACT USED IN THE ALADDIN MOVIE DIALOGUE
This study aims to find the types of indirect speech acts and analyze the implicit meaning behind the literal utterances of the dialogues based on the context in the Movie. The theory used to analyze data is the theory of Brinton (2000) and Yule (1996) to determine the types of indirect speech acts follows with conditions. The source data is the movie entitled “Aladdin” by Guy Ritchie. The collected data were analyzed using a descriptive qualitative method. There are 5 types of indirect speech acts found in the Aladdin Movie dialogues. The most types of indirect speech acts that appear are request. It can be seen that the most data found are indirect speech acts as request (60%). The second is indirect speech acts as warn (20%). The third is indirect speech acts as assert (12%). The fourth is indirect speech act as advice (4%) and the fifth is indirect speech act as thank (4%).
