Teaching Writing Recount Text using Pictures Series to Class VIII Students of a Junior High School ( A Study at SMPN 2 Ngamprah )
This research was aimed to identify; (1) The implementation of teaching writing skill in recount text using picture series, (2) Teacher and students responses toward the implementation of the teaching writing skill in recount text using picture series method, and (3) Students difficulties in learning writing recount using picture series method. In compiling this research, researcher used descriptive qualitative research design. To gain the data to answer the first research question, observation was conducted; for the second question, questionnaires and interviews were employed; and for the third question, test and questionnaires were used. This research was conducted in a private vocational SMPN 2 in Ngamprah, West Bandung, especially class eight D. The final results revealed that the impelmentation of teaching writing recount text using picture series were appropriate to the planned scenario and both the teacher studnets mostly gave positive responses. However, the data from the questionnaire showed that students had a difficulty in the vocabulary whereas the data from the test indicated translation of words that was their most difficult aspect to master.
