Exploring Zoom Meeting In Teaching Writing Recount Text Using Genre Based Approach
Learning during the covid-19 period is carried out online. Therefore a distance learning tool is needed to learn activities between teachers and students. Zoom meeting is an online learning tool. This Research aims to find out the result of the teaching scenario then the responses and difficulties that teachers and students experience during learning by exploring zoom meeting in teaching writing recount text using a genre based approach. The subjects of this research were students of X IPS 1 in one of the MA in Purwakarta. This research used qualitative methods. The instrumens used in this research were observation sheet, questionnaires, interviews, and tests. Students seemed to participate and be active in each meeting, the result of applying teaching scenarios for three meetings. Then student responded to the questionnaires and interviews that online learning using zoom meeting was interesting and motivated because student could online learning at home and meet virtually with teachers. Furthermore, the test result are obtained from aspects of writing namely content and organization aspects are in the good to average category. Meanwhile, the language use and mechanics aspects are included in the fair to poor. In addition, the teacher obstacles experienced are constrained by unstable signals and intermitten sound or video. In addition, it is not easy to apply the genre based approach to join construction of the text and independent contraction of the text stages. The genre absed aproach is not effectively applied in writing recount text due to virtual learning assisted zoom meetings
