The correlation between student's ability in vocabulary mastery and their achievement in reading comprehension
The objective of this research is to find out the significant correlation between vocabulary mastery and their achievement in reading comprehension.rnThis research used correlational research design and quantitative research method. The instrument is vocabulary and reading test using multiple choices. The population of this study is the seventh grade students at MTs Miftahurroja Ciwidey. The writer took VII-B class as the sample that consisted of 30 students. The data of this research is analyzed using Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. The result of this research showed that there is a strong correlation comprehension. It is proved by the rcount (0.788) is higher than rtable in the degree of significance 5% (0.361) and 1% (0.463). It is considered that the null hypotheses (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypotheses (Ha) is accepted. In conclusion, achievement in reading comprehension. To have a good achievement in reading comprehension, the students have to master vocabulary very well.
