(Skripsi) TARZAN’ LANGUAGE ACQUISITION IN THE MOVIE TARZAN 1999
This research focuses in the main character of Tarzan. This research concerns to the analysis of Tarzan own language acquisition and he passes his human language of verbal and non-verbal communication in the movie of Tarzan 1999. The data is taken from the script which is 21 scenes. The method of the research is descriptive qualitative because this research not only describes the process of language acquisition but also verbal and non-verbal communication in the movie of Tarzan. 1999. The writer uses some theories of language acquisition from Noam Chomsky about innate capacity of brain in language-learning mechanism at birth, B.F. Skinner about behaviorism capacity that children imitate what they see from adults. There are also theories of verbal and non-verbal communication from Matsumo and Frank about gesture also can be a part of communication, and also some other supporting theories to conduct this study. There are two process that Tarzan experienced, such as behavior and nativism. The most language acquisition process is behaviorism as many as 11 processes (52%). It implies that Tarzan's process of behaviorism is more prominent. There are two kind of communication that Tarzan experienced, such as verbal communication and non-verbal communication. The most human language of communication is verbal communication as many as 14 verbal communications (67%). It implies that Tarzan's process of verbal communication is more prominent.
